According to some historical accounts, Andrographis is credited with the 1919 Indian flu epidemic following the Spanish Influenza outbreak. In two clinical studies using Andrographis preparation known as 'Kan Jang', patients with influenza showed greatly increased recovery and reduced post - influenza complications.
